We were thrilled to have Aunt Jame, Uncle Teej, and cousin Chambers (and Jojo) all visit for Jackson's 1 month birthday! Unfortunately we also had remnants of Hurricane Gustav show up as an uninvited guest, so we were challenged to find something indoors that fit the schedule of both a 1-month and 20-month old (Fred, I have a lot of respect for you - and parents on rainy days in general).
So that meant the Live Butterfly exhibit at the Smithsonian, where you go inside this chamber and tons of butterflies are flying all around you. Chambers got to see the butterflies up close and was a little freaked out; Jackson got to see...mostly dad's chest in the Bjorn. I was wearing green and seemed to attract them, so here's a video of the visit and a few shots of the butterflies landing on us.
Chambers is really talking a lot more now, and is potty-training, so those were the big updates this weekend. Here's a shot and video of them meeting Jackson for the first time (except for Jame, who already met him in the hospital with us). Chambers didn't know quite what to think, but she did manage to say good bye to baby "Jack-SON" as she says it.
