[Below is the posting I wrote the morning we went into labor, but before I realized it. We never got to post it but got such a kick out of re-reading it that we thought we'd post it now...]
So according to our blog poll, 72% of you apparently were spot on - our little man is late. I'm feeling ok, though very ready to meet him! He's doing a good job of keeping me inside with my feet up and drinking as much water as possible; meanwhile his big brother has taken it upon himself to be an active bodyguard and won't let me leave his sight. Which is actually encouraging that something will go down soon; usually Bo is interested in my activities, but mostly because they are correlated to me possibly walking or feeding him. These days he is sleeping at my feet, regardless of where I am, and has a general worried look about him.
All that aside, we had a feeling the little man would be late, so we waited until the last minute to debut the nursery. It has been more or less functional since May, but we added a brand new closet over the weekend to get everything organized, and just finished hanging pictures yesterday.
You all might be aware that we've had a ton of people trying to guess the name, or trying to trick us into spilling the name - the biggest culprit being Kevin's mom. We have blocks on the windowsill that spell out 'laugh' which we bought on our babymoon thinking that there will be 2 am feeding moments when we need some perspective. When we showed Ro the nursery for the first time, she got quiet and really focused, which I thought was odd since I expected a lot of ohh'ing and ahh'ing. Turns out she thought the blocks were scrambled and actually spelled his name, and that I had left them out by accident, so she was trying to figure it out in her head before I realized "my mistake." Lucky for Singy, we are not naming him Gauhl or Haugl - but you'll find that out soon enough;)
Anyway, here are his new digs, for whenever he decides to leave his old ones!

Belly Dancing
I took the attached video so that remote friends and family could see the belly in action. I just couldn't get over how much movement he was making, given that he doesn't have a whole lot of room. And Kevin can't always see him moving from my vantage point, so I thought it would be a good view, and Bo gives a shout out to his baby bro at the end...
Pregnancy Pictures
We hired the best photographer we know - Kevin's brother Eric - to take some shots of us as a family before the new addition arrives. These were actually taken back around month 6, and are some of the shots we are hanging in the nursery. We loved the way he captured us with Bodhi, and think he took some amazing ones - thanks Uncle Eric!
10 months and counting...
We've been remiss in not posting (and have heard about it - sorry!) so wanted to get some recent pics up of the belly. For those who insist on calling...yes, we're still pregnant. And no, we haven't had the baby yet. And yes, it sure is hot and humid. I know, I'm not sure how I'm dealing either.
But all in all, things are good - I just had my last day of in-the-office work, so I'll be working from home and getting ready for Singy until he arrives. Kind of strange to walk away from a place knowing you'll be back in 3 months a totally changed person!
Regardless, here are some 8.5 month pictures...

And some from 10 months...which coincided with my birthday dinner (and yes, pregnancy is technically 10 months long - I'm not a month overdue, as I've had to explain to numerous male colleagues!)

Our Kitchen Renovation:
So we decided that having a baby wasn't enough excitement, and remodeled the kitchen during my 3rd trimester. We figured that it would make things easier with the baby coming, since we're knocking down a few walls and reorienting the space to make it more open.
Here are some of the before pictures:

Kevin throws a chief resident's roast...
Kevin got the enviable task of throwing a black-tie roast for the graduating chief residents, and thus learned a little bit about what my event-planning past was all about. He actually did everything himself (though he did thank his beautiful pregnant wife in his speech, just to get some brownie points! It worked) and threw it at Congressional Country Club in Maryland, which was a gorgeous setting. They had the highest turnout ever, and the event went off without a hitch. Guess I need to call up OAI and see if they need any extra planners for the next big event!

Kevin's 10 Year Reunion (8 months!)
We went back to Cville for Kevin's 10 year reunion at UVa, and despite the 100+ degree weather, managed to have a great time. Kevin's close guy friends couldn't make it, but we did see a bunch of Pi Phis and old friends, plus got to see the Lawn lit up for this light show that was a little random but really cool. We spent most of the time alternating between events and going back to our B&B to relax in the AC. But we did manage to bring back some Bodo's and specialty sandwiches from our favorite spots on our way out of town. I guess next year we'll get to do it all over again - with a 10 month old in tow!
