Our Kitchen Renovation:

So we decided that having a baby wasn't enough excitement, and remodeled the kitchen during my 3rd trimester. We figured that it would make things easier with the baby coming, since we're knocking down a few walls and reorienting the space to make it more open.

Kevin throws a chief resident's roast...

Kevin got the enviable task of throwing a black-tie roast for the graduating chief residents, and thus learned a little bit about what my event-planning past was all about. He actually did everything himself (though he did thank his beautiful pregnant wife in his speech, just to get some brownie points! It worked) and threw it at Congressional Country Club in Maryland, which was a gorgeous setting. They had the highest turnout ever, and the event went off without a hitch. Guess I need to call up OAI and see if they need any extra planners for the next big event!

Kevin's 10 Year Reunion (8 months!)

We went back to Cville for Kevin's 10 year reunion at UVa, and despite the 100+ degree weather, managed to have a great time. Kevin's close guy friends couldn't make it, but we did see a bunch of Pi Phis and old friends, plus got to see the Lawn lit up for this light show that was a little random but really cool. We spent most of the time alternating between events and going back to our B&B to relax in the AC. But we did manage to bring back some Bodo's and specialty sandwiches from our favorite spots on our way out of town. I guess next year we'll get to do it all over again - with a 10 month old in tow!

Singy's Baby Shower!

Kevin's mom, sister-in-law, aunt, and my mom and sister, all threw us a baby shower at 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church, VA. It was a great afternoon and gorgeous setting, and I think we came home pretty much outfitted for his arrival! The only picture that requires some explaining is the one with little blue fabric - Aunt Jamie gave him baby scrubs:)

Regular Check-Up

My friend Shelley kept insisting that we should try to hear Singy's heartbeat with Kevin's stethoscope, but we could never really hear it. So we called in a specialist...we're hoping he can fill in during Kevin's busy chief year.

Poor Bodhi - our firstborn certainly played along for the pictures but was about as enthusiastic as he looks;) The stethoscope still isn't working for us, but this kid is kicking enough to make his presence known!

Off to Meet Baby Carson!

At 6 months along, I took my last solo flight - out to Colorado to visit my friend Jess, and her 3 month old, Carson. My best girlfriends from college all met at her house in Colorado Springs and had a girls weekend (plus husband / babysitter Chris and action-loving dog Coty!) Here's the little man - who is the first of our group to break the gender barrier - meeting us for the first time...

We got a kick out of posing him with his Aunt Sarah, Jess' twin - who he was very taken with - and posing poor Coty with his new baby brother and in Carson's hat.

And finally - the girls reunion pictures, taken at Garden of the Gods with Pikes Peak in the background, and at Jess' brother- and sister-in-laws' in Lakewood. What a difference clothes make - you'd think I was 9 months in the outdoor picture and 3 months in the indoor one! I'm seriously considering writing a "How to Dress 10-20 Pounds Lighter/Heavier While You're Pregnant" book after some of these shots:)

We decided to take a long weekend away at the The Homestead for a mini-babymoon, with our friends Mike and Amber and their 2 year old Alden. It was a great weekend, with golf for the boys, spa for the girls, and Southern hospitality with some nice room upgrades!
